i came across one of their top ten new designers, vicente villarin, by joanne reyes, and thought her designs were beautiful. the fabrics and tailoring are exquisite too. no wonder she was one of their picks. check it out:

i went out of town on an impromptu roadtrip to oregon over the weekend. the bf and i left early friday morning and arrived in portland by early afternoon. i have to say, portland is a totally fantastic city. it’s a lot like vancouver in many ways actually. the vibe is pretty chill there- they are, after all, the most liberal (or democratic, if you will) state in the u.s.a (according to my bf anyway!).

we also went to the coast for one of the days and that was gorgeous! it was a bit cloudy but still breathtaking. the sand was so nice and there were these huge sea stacks. if only we had more time, then we could have gone further south than we did!

i unfortunately didn’t get to do all that much shopping cause the bf wouldn’t have any of that, not that the shopping was extraordinary or anything, or at least didn’t seem that way. however, i did wander into forever 21, saw some cute things, but due to time constraints enforced by the bf and not a lot of $$ to spend, i parted with just a few bangle bracelets! i also saw these really cute gladiator-esque sandals at nordstrom, which i may have to search for online.

and finally, we visited the MOST AMAZING bookstore i have ever been to in my life! it’s called powell’s books. it’s huge and they have EVERY book you can think of! i think we spent nearly an hour in there and each walked out with about 3 or 4 books.
needless to say, if you’re looking to do a roadtrip this summer, i definitely suggest considering oregon. oh, and they have awesome beer, thanks to a large selection of excellent micro-breweries.

i think i have a sickness, wherein no matter how many bags i may have (of varying sorts- from totes to clutches to everything in between… ha ha, maybe i’ll do what j’aime ta mere did and post photos of my collection, though in her case she posted her shoe collection) i always want another! agh, i am such a consumer whore. anyway, i saw this cute marc jacobs tote and immediately thought, wow, what a perfect summer bag to take to the beach etc. alas, at $110, it doesn’t fit into my budget. if anyone spots it anywhere on sale… let me know!! i might have to get it.

i’m a tad excited right now. ok, very excited!!
i was online last night checking out nouvelle nouvelle’s blog and happened upon a new post entitled summer giveaway! turns out they were giving away a lovely mociun tote bag to the first person who could correctly answer a trivia question about the store. i immediately sent in my response and what do you know, i won!! this is especially rad for me, as i have made a vow to myself to stop shopping ( i know, what am i thinking?!? ok, well, i’m just really trying to save some $$ cuz the bf and i wanna go to turkey in october) so when you can’t buy anything, winning something is definitely the next best thing! i get to pick it up later today! yipeee!!! here it is below. i’ll post a photo of me fashioning it later…
